Presentation by Benu Amun-Ra called “Elders, Elder-Care, Transition and Access” 530-7pm Wednesday 14 August 202.
The event is part of the Perspectives in Psychedelics: BIPOC Speaker Series, organized by Dr. Otañez, Associate Professor, Anthropology Department, CU Denver.
Through Benu’s presentation we will discover together as a community the ways to honor our Elders, finding alternatives to care for them in these uncertain times and transitioning them into an after-life without fear.
How can you prepare someone for such a transition?
How can we offer psychedelics as a transition aid?
How can we honor our Elders when they transition, rooted in indigenous/natural ways?
This in-person event is limited to 30 people and is free.
Benu co-exists at many intersections between life and death in the forms of a mother, caregiver, advocate, generational farmer and seedkeeper while learning to become an end-of-life doul, a healer, teacher, activist, and Jegna (African Elder).
